A little bit of crazy…

For those of you who are coming over to the blog to check out my work, you should probably also know a little bit about me. This past year I built a photo booth (the FlashMe Booth…yes, a lot of thought went into the name) and have started renting it out for events. Normally in front of a camera I am not too comfortable, but there is just something about being in an enclosed booth with a bunch of props that makes you forget you are camera shy. Hopefully, this gives you an idea of the fun crazy you get to work with when you book your wedding or portrait session with me. Oh, and the other crazy guy in the photo is Jack from Whatcom Sound (pop on over to their website if you need a DJ for your event).

Skagit Wedding Show!

So, I know that we have been suffering from a bit of crazy winter weather this week. If you are like me you have been trapped in your house and are looking for any excuse to get in the car and drive…. If you are planning a wedding, why not hop in the car on Sunday and come check out the Skagit Wedding Show being held at the Eaglemont Golf Course in Mt. Vernon. Doors will open at 11am with a bridal fashion show starting at 3pm. I will be there representing my photo booth, the FlashMe booth, and it will be up and running for everyone to enjoy! Jess and Pat’s Wedding

I just want to start off by saying congratulations, you did it! So, Jess was telling me a bit about why they chose the date of December 21st…which yes was a Wednesday. It has to do with winter solstice and Irish luck? Please feel free to illuminate us more Jess :) Well I should say that they were very lucky weather wise as once again the sun was shining in Western Washington and there wasn’t a drop of rain. The couple and all of their friends did an amazing job of decorating for the ceremony and reception. And I think that it is pretty safe to say that everyone really enjoyed having the FlashMe Booth photo booth set up at the reception! Best wishes for a happy first year of marriage on the beautiful island of Saba.

Jess and Pat’s After session up at Mt. Baker

Just a couple days before Christmas Jess and Pat were married (their full wedding blog post to follow this one). The wedding was a ton of fun and somehow these two managed to get themselves up and dressed the next morning to head up to Mt. Baker for their after session. Sure happy they did. It was great to be able to go to some place new and exciting…and a bit on the cold side. Thanks for being such great sports out in the cold you two (oh and Koda too!)

What a cute bunch of kiddos! They were happy to laugh and smile for the camera. Kind of nice to schedule an indoor session once in a while and not have to worry about the weather. It’s a good thing this session was inside because we have been enjoying quite a chilly winter.

What a great day to head up to Mt. Baker and have an after session! Jess and Pat got married on December 21st (the winter solstice) and I am excited to say wanted to head up to the mountain the morning after for some more photos. This is just a teaser for them. Enjoy!

the Bult family…with a new member

Faith and Dan asked me to come and take photos for them again this year. So we have Mambo, a rotweiler, Boca, a great dane, and the newest addition, Ike, another great dane! For those of you who have never worked with a great dane show dog before…they are taught not to sit! This made for a fun and challenging photo shoot, but to tell you the truth, I look forward to working with them every year. Can’t wait to design their New Year’s card with one side dedicated to the bloopers.

Mike and Kim’s fall wedding

Weddings in the fall are such a beautiful thing. Mike and Kim’s wedding was a fun event for me because I already knew so much of the bridal party. We were blessed with such a nice fall day and had a bit of time to take some bride and bridesmaids photos at Hovander Park before heading down for the ceremony and reception at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal.

Kayla, Taylor, and the little Sofia

When these three first showed up on my door I was surprised to see Taylor. He was one of my math students when I was teaching at Meridian! It is amazing to see him all grown up and with a beautiful family of his own. Kayla is a wonderful young woman and I see her being an amazing mother to Sofia. Best wishes for their first Christmas as a family!
